Vehicle Preparation for our customers

All vehicles identified or selected for our customers are carefully appraised, paying particular attention to documented service history, mileage verification, and the usual but important HPI checks. This verification may include contacting the main dealer where the vehicle was previously serviced if inconsistencies are discovered.

Having passed an inspection a vehicle is then prepared, which often includes a service as required by the service log. Finally the vehicle is professionally valeted to restore it’s near new look. Only then is the vehicle offered for retail sale or supplied directly to our waiting customer.

By using third parties throughout the preparation stage we aim to boost our customer’s confidence in the vehicle they are purchasing.

What’s my car worth in Part Exchange?

Many large dealership’s quote the famous enticing slogan, ‘£1500-£2000 minimum part exchange value regardless of age, mileage or condition against the price on your next car’, Sounds fantastic doesn’t it! This is an empty promise due to the fact that the car you are interested in has an inflated screen price of £1500-£2000 more than it should be retailing for, for example, the car you look at should retail for £3995 but is actually displayed at £5995 – no wonder they can give you £2000 for your old clapped out Ford Escort!

Steve James motor cars are fare and realistic on how we value your faithful old friend. We’ll give you EXACTLY what the car is worth, NO MORE, NO LESS, as simple as that!

Retail Price Information

All our Retail cars advertised for sale on our website and the Autotrader website, are at a Retail price INCLUDING the dealer benefits, e.g. if the car requires an MOT or Service, this is carried out before customer collection. The advertised price also includes the Parts & Labour warranty and a full Autoglym valet. If a customer requests and negotiates a price reduction on the price of the vehicle advertised on our website or the Autotrader website, the vehicle will be sold without the advertised dealer benefits! This meaning, the vehicle will NOT be entered into the workshop for a New Inspection, New MOT or NEW Service (if the vehicle requires this). No warranty or dealer benefits will be included with the vehicle!
